Pro INNO Europe Annual Partnering Event 2012

PRO INNO Europe® is pleased to announce that its 2012 Annual Partnering Event will take place on 9-12 May in Porto (Portugal). The event will be organised under the title ‘Better practice is not enough – New innovation challenges require new approaches’. 

The partnering event will bring together around 100 participants from relevant national, regional and local authorities and public agencies responsible for the promotion or support of innovation and the design of innovation support programmes. The PRO INNO Europe® Partnering Event is a meeting point for projects currently funded under the PRO INNO Europe® initiative and will allow discussion of their result and insights.

The conference is structured around 4 sessions and will take place in Palacio da Bolsa.

IF Finale in Milan celebrates the launch of the "European Creative Industries Alliance” in style

On 27-28 February, some 300 policy-makers and practitioners gathered in Milan, Italy, for the official launch of the European Creative Industries Alliance during the Innovation Festival (IF) Finale. European Commission Vice-President Tajani was joined by high-level speakers from related initiatives in the discussions on how to better support creative industries in practice.

This event brought together for the first time the 28 partner organisations from 12 countries that build the core of the European Creative Industries Alliance. This new policy initiative is an open platform that combines policy learning with 8 concrete actions on innovation vouchers, better access to finance and cluster excellence & cooperation in order to develop and test better policies and tools for the creative industries. The initiative was set up by the European Commission’s Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General with the objective to shape a community in Europe that actively supports creative industries as a driver for competitiveness, job creation and structural change. It aims to mobilise additional funding of at least €100 million for the creative industries.

Match up with clusters in the Designer Challenge!

Students, designers, communication agencies and web agencies are encouraged to take part in the 'Put Your Cluster On The Map' Challenge. In this competition, clusters and designers will team up to design the ultimate cluster interface and accompanying visualization.

25 clusters expressed their interest to participate in the 'Put your Cluster on the Map' competition. It is now up to designers to match-up with the clusters! You can find the list of participating clusters and information on how to sign up here (deadline: March 30th). Over the next few weeks, you will get to meet them! Some of the clusters will organize an interactive online session streamed live on www.howtogrow.eu.

Prizes
Winning teams of the contest (clusters and designers) will be presented and awarded during the European Cluster Conference that will take place in Vienna, Austria on 18-20 April 2012.

The prizes for the three winning teams are the following:

• Prize 1 - A training session for the designer and a cluster assessment performed by Price Waterhouse Coopers
• Prize 2 - A cluster assessment performed by Price Waterhouse Coopers and an inspiration tour to experience in Denmark, Copenhagen for the winning team
• Prize 3 - An inspiration tour to experience in Denmark, Copenhagen for the winning team
